What Does This Do?
This utility installs the VAIO HDD Protection Utility for Microsoft® Windows® XP operating system.
For computers that ship with Microsoft® Windows Vista® operating system, this file is intended to provide basic system functionality under Windows XP operating system.
WARNING!: For computers optimized for use with Windows Vista operating system, some functionality will be lost under Windows XP operating system. Please click here for more information.

To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
Download the SOAOTH-00174087-XP.EXE file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference).
Go to the directory where the file was downloaded and double-click the SOAOTH-00174087-XP.EXE file to begin the installation.
At the "VAIO HDD Protection" screen, click "Next".
At the "License Agreement" dialog, read the agreement, then, if you agree, click "I Agree".
At the "Finish" screen, click "Finish".
The installation of the VAIO® HDD Protection Utility is complete.
