Download the SOASSL-00598800-US.EXE file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference).
Go to the directory where the file was downloaded and double-click the SOASSL-00598800-US.EXE file to begin the installation.
At the "Sony® Shared Library for Microsoft® Windows® XP" screen, click "Next".
NOTE: Several setup boxes may briefly appear during the installation. As the files are installed, these boxes will close automatically.
At the "Install" box, click "OK" to restart the computer.
After the computer restarts, the installation of the Sony® Shared Library is complete.

Application Recovery Under a "Clean Install" of the Windows XP Operating System
After installing the Sony Shared Library utility, you will be able to recover applications using the Recovery Media you created with the VAIO Recovery Wizard. The VAIO Recovery Wizard is an application included in the original shipping configuration of your computer.

This utility installs the originally shipped version of the Sony® Shared Library. The Sony Shared Library allows you to use your VAIO® Recovery Media to reinstall applications on a "clean install" of the Microsoft® Windows® XP operating system.
