What Does This Do?
This utility installs the Sony Programmable I/O Control Device driver for Microsoft® Windows® XP operating system.
For computers that ship with Microsoft® Windows Vista® operating system, this file is intended to provide basic system functionality under Windows XP operating system.
WARNING!: For computers optimized for use with Windows Vista operating system, some functionality will be lost under Windows XP operating system. Please click here for more information.

To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
Download the SODSPI-00173450-XP.EXE file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference).
Go to the directory where the file was downloaded and double-click the SODSPI-00173450-XP.EXE file to begin the installation.
At the "Sony Programmable I/O Control Device" screen, click "Next".
At the "License Agreement" dialog, read the agreement, then, if you agree, click "I Agree" to continue with the installation.
At the "Finish" screen, click "Finish".
The installation of the Sony® Programmable I/O Control Device is complete.
